Trikatu is a combination of equal parts of the fruits of Black Pepper (Piper nigrum), Long Pepper (Piper longum) and the rhizomes of Ginger (Zingiber officinale), which has been used extensively in Ayurvedic formulations. Studies have proven that Trikatu delays metabolism and eventual excretion of the active ingredient that it combines with, which in effect increases the absorption of the later. Hence the combination of Trikatu itself boosts the availability of Curcumin for absorption.
